Gold!
Hip, hip, Hooray!
Our first time entering the SYF Central Judging for Guitar Ensembles, and our first Gold!
Don't be complacent about it, guys. =]
Now, concentrate on your studies, and don't forget about the Trinity Guildhall Examination on the 29th of May which we still have to practice hard for, regardless of our SYF medal.

Urgent Guitar 1 and 2 Update
Guitar 1 and Guitar 2.
I know this comes late, but please do take note of this.
I could not directly contact all of you guys, but if you're reading this, please tell ALL your contactable Guitar 1 and Guitar 2 friends NOW to read this post.
NOW.
Okay, there are simple changes, but you HAVE to practice REALLY hard to make sure you remember them.
Practice until these changes get stuck in your head.
At Bar 67 onwards, Guitar 1 and Guitar 2 will play ABOVE THE FRETBOARD.
Which means your thumb and fingers should be touching the 17, 18 or 19 frets when you pluck your strings.
This is to help make it sound rounder, and more gentle.
At Bar 74, slide your hand back above the soundhole.
From then onwards, pluck above the soundhole.
You can't really pluck with your hands above the high frets cause both Guitar 1 and 2 need to reach high notes with their left hand eventually.
Another gentle reminder...
... PLEASE GO INFORM EVERY GUITAR 1 AND GUITAR 2 PERSON (especially Vincent Gan) YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS. NOW! EVEN IF YOU THINK THEY'VE ALREADY BEEN INFORMED (exclude me, la, of course) DO IT ANYWAY!

Speech Day
Speech Day 2009 is on Saturday, 18th April.
Please be punctual- at 12.35pm.
Bring your SYF Attire, which include Tie.
You may either wear it to school, or bring it along to change at school.
You are reminded to trim your nails on your left hand as well before coming.

International Friendship Day
Hello everyone.
This is quite last minute, but to update everyone,
tomorrow is International Friendship Day, and as school ends at 12.35pm,
CCA will start at 1.15pm for SYF ensemble, and the usual 1.45pm for the Sec 1 ensemble.

SYF Full-dress Rehearsal
Hi again.
As you guys have to know by now,
tomorrow is the full-dress hearsal is tomorrow.
Come to Woodlands MRT by 6pm with your lovely SYF uniform on.
If you wanna change at Woodlands, fine by me, just find a toilet first, just make sure you're wearing your black top, black pants, belt, shoes, socks (all of which we've specified earlier) at Woodlands MRT by 6pm.
We'll be taking a bus to Republic Poly, and we'll be dismissed
at about 10pm or so.
Let's make tomorrow's rehearsal awesome.

SJI Showcase
Hey everyone.
This is a really last minute reminder, but I sure hope it helps.
Tomorrow is the showcase at SJI.
Wear: School Uniform and School Tie (Goldion one... please...)
When: 8am at school (7am at Serangoon Central Mac's if you wanna eat breakfast...)
Where: St Gab's Sec. Duh.
How: Don't bring file. Just bring yourself.
You'll each be given a tuner (please take care of it.)
We should leave school at around 8.45am and the event should end at about... 1pm?
Breakfast and Lunch not provided.
James Pun, Goh Rui Yi, Ian Lim and Tham Yao Jie, I do hope you're reading this.
